Zayn Malik recently made an appearance on SiriusXM’s Debatable and surprisingly answered a question that no one thought he would.
The 28 year old was asked, “comparing yourself to other members of your band, who would be number two?” implying of course that assuming Zayn believes himself to be the best member of the band who would be the closes second from the remaining band members made up of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne.
The answer initially was as your would expect, Zayn felt he wouldn’t get involved in these kinds of questions and doesn’t think there is a comparison. Of course we wouldn’t expect anything less from someone who tries not to ruffle too many features.
He did however later change his mind and decided to answer.
“I’ll tell you what. Niall‘s my favorite. Niall makes the best music. There you go, “ Zayn said.
When he was asked if Niall made better music than zayn the answer was;
“He makes better music than me. Yea, I’m a Niall fan,” he added.
One Direction was formed in 2010 on British television show The X Factor which is a talent show for aspiring singers. Though initially each member auditioned separately they were advised to pool their talents to become the Boyband One Direction. Zayn was the first to leave the group in 2015. While the remaining members continued for a while they too split and went on to focus on solo careers.
Niall Horan has since released the album Flicker in 2017 which included singles “This Town” and “Slow Hands” which reached Top 20 in several countries. Flicker debted at number one in Ireland and US and reached top three in Australia and UK.
Niall’s second album Heartbreak Weather was released in March 2020 and debuted at number four in US and number one in UK, Ireland and Mexico.
Zayn has released three studio albums, sixteen singles (including four as a featured artist), six promotional singles and ten music videos.
His debut studio album Mind of Mine released on 25 March 2016, and its lead single, "Pillowtalk", reached number one in several countries, with Malik becoming the first British male artist to debut at number one in both the UK and US with a debut single and debut album according to reports.
It’s tough to say who among the two has better music, clearly Zayn think Niall but it would be interesting to know if Niall feels the same. Tell us what you think.
