Nicki Minaj has not won any Grammy Awards but Cardi B has and now Wiz Khalifa is being accused of pitting the two against each other.
The Grammy nominations have ruffled a few feathers, everyone from The Weekend to Justin Bieber to Nicki Minaj are angry. Nicki Minaj’s anger was expressed on Tuesday 24 November, after the nominations were announced where she brought up old feelings from 2012, she said;
Wiz Khalifa also went on twitter to support Nicki’s statement, writing
A fan responded with;
Perhaps Wiz Khalifa should have left it here, instead he replied with;
"Most self made artists have this problem"
That really riled up Cardi, who took to twitter and on her own page shared an old message from Wiz Khalifa pretty much supporting the rapper Cardi B and praising her;
“You got your cause and your [sic] sticking to it. Don’t stray away from the things that are important to you and make you you. Your [sic] doing a great job and the way you address things is admirable. Keep your light shining and don’t let others take it. Peace and love.”
Cardi went on to explain; “This was N****s in my dms in 2016!They really support you when you grinding at the bottom then it’s a different story when you make it !”
Wow, Cardi actually decided she was going to go through the effort of digging up old messages to make a point.
She then accused him of pitting her against Nicki Minaj tweeting; “I don’t understand why n****s entertain tweets that pit successful women against each other? Ya not tired of that? Specially when ya was rooting hard when a b*tch was at the bottom.”
Now for those of you that don’t know the two have not always been the best of friends to put it kindly and there has even been an incident of a shoe being through at the other, back in 2018. I know, crazy right. According to Prezhilton, ‘Cardi came for Nicki, right after Minaj mentioned Cardi’s daughter Kulture by name.’ Woops, sorry Cardi, we didn’t mean to say your daughter’s name.
Realising Wiz khalifa may have started something he should not have, he decided to backtrack clarifying that they both worked hard. He replied with; "Damn that wuz good advice. I still support u. Nothings changed. Your self made in my book as well."
And to clear the air he said; “I just don’t want a Cardi/ Wiz war goin on for no reason.”
That’s right, Mr Khalifa unless you want a shoe thrown at you, it would be best to keep the peace.
