What you don't know about Bella Hadid

The youngest of the Hadid sisters, Bella Hadid is everywhere on the internet, and with a huge following of almost 32 million fans and regular updates on social media has meant that a lot has been revealed.


In this article we bring to you the facts that have been overshadowed by flashy and glamorous self of the runway queen Bella Hadid.


1. Bella was not airdropped into modelling

Bella and her siblings Gigi and Anwar are not airdropped into the fashion industry, they were all born with the genes and power.


Bella Hadid is the second born child of Mohamed Hadid and Yolanda. While Mohamed was a real estate tycoon, mom Yolanda had been making news in the fashion industry since her teen years. As a teen Yolanda Hadid was signed by Ford agency and later in her career starred in “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. Their marriage lasted only six years and in 2000 Bella Hadid’s parents divorced.

Yolanda Hadid has said in an interview she has dressed and shot her kids since their very early age but it was never planned that it’s going to be their profession.

2. Bella Hadid holds a professional degree

Bella Hadid started her career in 2014 but that did not stop her from pursuing a professional degree.


Bella was introduced on the runway during the New York Fashion Week in the fall of 2014 and the same year she also registered to attend the prestigious art school Parsons.

During an interview with Vogue in 2014, Bella said "There wasn't really one time in my life where I was like, 'I want to be a model!' It was more Gigi's thing," Referring to her degree and experience Bella also added, “Having experience behind it has taught me about lighting and angles, how to move, and what looks good and what doesn't."

3. Mystery of Bella Hadid’s Hair Color

Bella Hadid is a natural blonde but has colored her hair dark to stand apart from her super model sister Gigi. In an interview Bella admitted her darker personality while sister Gigi’s blonde will be a good separation.

Bella knew the industry did not want another Gigi or her look-alike and she made a conscious decision to be “the black sheep of the family.”

Bella has also revealed that Gigi was the one with good grades, was angelic, good looking and funny while she was a rebel and she wanted the world to see the difference.

4. Bella Hadid had a sports career in making

Bella Hadid wanted to be an Olympic equestrian and was expecting a spot in the Olympic team for the 2016 Olympic that was held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.


Bella said in an interview that she has been riding horses since she could barely walk and her devotion towards the sports stemmed for her mom’s love for horses.

At 18 years old, Bella was an award-winning, nationally ranked equestrian.

5. Bella Hadid’s health issue

Bella Hadid was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2013 and the chronic symptoms are still persistent.


Bella’s mother Yolanda has opened up about Bella’s diagnosis in the “Real Housewives”

"I have two children that have severe, suppressed immune systems…” she said. “Both Bella and Anwar are suffering from Lyme disease. We lived on a horse ranch. We had ticks ….everywhere, every day of our lives."


In an interview Bella said that it was "a dark time" when she first got sick during junior year of high school. She has also mentioned she was "exhausted all the time" and couldn't remember things properly.

"I still have Lyme in my spine; my back has been in excruciating pain for three years," she confirmed to the Evening Standard in 2015. "I have it in all my joints and it goes up to my brain."
