Was The Identity Of Original Gossip Girl Given Away In The Pilot? Viral TikTok Video Claims It Was!

For those that pretty much watched all 6 seasons of Gossip Girl, like we did, just to find out the identity of who Gossip Girl was, may have tried to pay more attention during the pilot.

A new revelation about the original series has been made which is probably going to make everyone try to go back and watch it again and that is Dan Humphreys who was the person behind the illusive Gossip Girl was pretty much revealed in the pilot episode.

According to one fan who created a tiktok video, the producers revealed the man behind the computer in the pilot episode, and it was hinted at multiple times throughout the introduction for the show.

The one key clip that gave it away however was when Gossip Girl was talking about themselves with Serena van der woodsen playing on a computer which was in fact Dan’s computer. The shot then went to Dan along with the voiceover “And who am I? That’s one secret I’ll never tell.”

I guess that is all good and well, although the female voiceover may not have made it so obvious. This isn’t the first time Dan Humphery who is also called lonely boy in the series was thought to be behind it all. BuzzFeed and Glamour both thought there were signs it may have been longer boy couple of years ago.

According to eonline even one of the writer’s admitted there could have been other candidates, not least Eric van der woodsen, Serena’s brother and even Nate Archibald.

"I always thought it was Eric until the end of season two, and I even guided it that way, but when the New York Post revealed it was Eric—and I still don't know how that happened, I think they were just guessing—and we realized we couldn't go down that road anymore, so we abandoned him," Joshua Safran told Vulture in 2017.

True, even we would have believed Eric.

Joshua goes on to add;

"Then there was possibly Nate, because we never saw him send anything in to Gossip Girl. But in the end, it had to be Dan, because Dan's a writer, observer, and could write in different styles."

We have to admit the show’s writers definitely made it difficult to guess and perhaps hadn’t known themselves that it would be Dan Humpreys until the very end. As for the fan’s claims, sure it’s all believable post event is all we would say!

It waits to be seen who the new gossip girl will be.
