Vanessa Bryant Says ‘Heartbreaking Loss’ Of Kobe & Daughter Gianna Has Been A ‘Cluster Of Emotions’

When you lose your husband it is tough but when you lose both your husband and your daughter it can be much harder and it takes time to heal. Almost a year after Kobe Bryant and their 13 year old daughter Gianna’s death in a helicopter crash, his widow Venessa Bryant speaks of her grief.

In an Instagram post made on Jan 15th the widow tells people who may have experienced grief to “Find your reason to live”.

“Let me be real — grief is a messed up cluster of emotions,” Vanessa posted on January 15.

“One day, you’re in the moment laughing and the next day you don’t feel like being alive. I want to say this for people struggling with grief and heartbreaking loss. Find your reason to live.

I know it’s hard. I look at my daughters and I try to push through that feeling for them. Death is guaranteed but living the rest of the day isn’t. Find your reason.”

Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers star was headed from Orange County to his daughter's tournament at his Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks on the morning of 26 Jan 2020 when the crash occurred. Seven others were reported to have died.

Along with Venessa they had 3 other daughters who are now, Natalie 17, Bianka 4 and Capri 1.

Recently, Vanessa shared that Natalia is busy deciding which college she’s going to attend in the fall with her top choice being New York City, however her mom is hoping she remains closer to home although will remain proud regardless.

“I will do my best to keep her in Cali just like I kept her daddy here,” Vanessa captioned a photo shared on Instagram, referencing her late husband’s time on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Loss is never easy, but nice to see the mother and daughters trying to move on from the tragic death. We hope they find the peace they need.
