For those that may have liked Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing on friends may have changed their mind after a shocking video went viral where he was caught flirting with a 19 year old after they matched on Raya. Might we add he was 50.
Kate Haralson posted the.video with the caption,
“When you match w Matthew Perry as a joke on a dating app and he facetimes you and plays 20 questions with you “
Matthew can be seen giddily flirting with her and even joked at one point asking if he was as old as her dad. Speaking to page six, Kate says;
“I don’t think he minded that. It kind of felt weird talking to someone my dad’s age and it just felt not right, especially when he knew how young I was.”
He even tried to meet up with her since they both live in LA.
“Maybe one day you can get a COVID test and come over,” he said according to her.
But hang on, isn’t Matthew Perry engaged to be married? The video was taken a year ago but Kate Haralson only posted the video after the one of Ben Affleck went viral though that wasn’t as scandalous as this one.
According to reports, since at least 2019 Matthew Perry has been dating a woman named Molly Hurwitz though the exact date they started seeing each other is not known and may been much longer but the two are now engaged. Matthew broke the news to People last November telling the outlet;
“I decided to get engaged. Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time.”
So could he have been cheating on Molly Hurwitz? Maybe, there were rumors that Molly and Mathew broke up briefly which is when the incident with the 19 year old took place but this has not yet been confirmed. In case you are wondering Molly is 29 while Matthew is now 51 so still a 22 year age difference but not as bad as 32.
Kate Haralson has gone on to delete the video and says she never had the intention of posting it and only did it after seeing the Ben Affleck one,
“Honestly, I never really had any intention of posting it, but then I saw that one video, and thought, ‘Oh, this would be funny.’ I didn’t expect it to blow up as fast as it did.”
She goes on to add Matthew Perry is a “nice guy” and doesn’t deserve the negative attention. However does go on to add, “Honestly, it’s not really OK for these older guys to be talking to such young girls.”
“A lot of people were saying I’m a bully and mean for posting this, and it made me feel kind of bad, but at the same time, I feel like a lot of guys in Hollywood are talking to all these young girls and it’s something that I think a lot of people should be aware of.” She told pagesix.
Hmm…is it ok for younger girls to match themselves to older men? Perhaps Raya should add in a filter to not allow matches to be permitted if age difference to too much, except there is an inherent recognition that both sides are acknowledging the difference and are consenting to it. Perhaps she is just as guilty for encouraging it as he is of flirting with a 19 year old.
