Abraham Quintanilla Jr. is a Mexican American musician
Abraham Quintanilla Jr is a Mexican American former musician who was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. Abraham joined military in 1961 at the age of 22 and was stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, near Tacoma, Washington. There he met Marcella Samora, a Mexican American woman who also had Cherokee ancestry.
He started “The Selena Foundation”
Right after the tragedy the parents started “The Selena Foundation” to help children in crisis and Abraham is also very much involved in it. In 1997, Abraham served as the executive producer on the film Selena which starred Jennifer Lopez in her breakout role.
He chose the woman who murdered Selena to be the president of Selena's fan club
Other thing that has kept Abraham busy over the last 25 years is the legal issues.It is not very tough to imagine how devastated Abraham would have been after his daughter was murdered by the woman that he himself chose the president of Selena's fan club. But it seems that was just the beginning.
He was executive producer of the Netflix series and is being sued by Esparza
Abraham has also acted as an executive producer on Selena: The Series, so we can expect some authenticity and some censorship from a protective father but now it won’t surprise you, he and his daughter Suzette are sued for this series as well, they are being sued for $1 million by Esparza, the guy who produced the 1997 movie Selena.
Esparza is claiming that Selena's father violated a contract they had signed way back in 1995 that gave him exclusive rights to tell Selena's life story.
