Some things are best left private or else there are consequences. In Matthew McConaughey’s case the consequences are being labelled “classless”.
The 50 year old has chosen to tell all in his latest memoirs called Greenlights which are going to be released on 20 October. However it seems he has said too much when talking about his father’s death.
His father, James Donald McConaughey who was married to Mary Kathleen McConaughey passed away in 1992. Nearly three decades later, an extract from the book which was published in People Magazine talks about him being completely distraught by the experience. He wrote;
"I got a call from my Mom. ‘Your dad died.’ My knees buckled. I couldn’t believe it. “He was my dad. Nobody or nothing could kill him. Except mom.”
So far sounds like a loving son expressing his pain of losing his father, but it was what followed that have left many shocked.
Matthew writes;
“He’d always told me and my brothers, ‘Boys, when I go, I’m gonna be makin’ love to your mother.’ And that’s what happened. He had a heart attack when he climaxed.”
This isn’t anything not known before and something he has reportedly shared on Howard Stern show but many are concerned of the embarrassment it would cause his mother. Fans have been on Twitter sharing their concern;
“Is that not something incredibly private? I had no reason to know this. Is that what a grieving son does? Puts his mother’s intimacy in the news? What a classless loser.”
Another asked:
“Did his mother give him permission to share this with the public?”
A further Twitter user wrote:
“A little TMI [Too Much Information]. What an ass”,
Despite his parent's romance, he also revealed the pair 'were, at times, violent' and 'divorced twice, married three times.' 'It was like the Pacific Ocean in a storm,' he said of their on-off relationship.
The son is reported to have tried to set his mom up with Hugh Grant’s widowed father, 91-year-old James Grant earlier this year according to the daily mail.
Sounds like Matthew has a pretty close relationship with his mother, maybe he did reveal too much and maybe some things are best left unsaid but sounds like it is a matter for him to discuss with his mother. Tell us what you think?
