If you had $24 million what would you do with it? Well if you are Lil Uzi Vert, you would buy a diamond and implant it in your forehead.
The 26 year old rapper is known to spend insane amounts of money on anything and everything including watches, cars, clothes and jewellery.
Last week he announced that he had spent the past four years paying for a $24 million natural pink diamond that he planned to implant in his forehead and if you thought he was joking then he was not. On Tuesday he went through with his promise and had the diamond planted on his head.
Though the inspiration behind the diamond is unclear, fans immediately compared him to Vision, the Marvel superhero powered by the Mind Stone though there have been mixed responses to the diamond.
One twitter user wrote; 'No!!'
Another said; ‘Shii weird’
Another wrote; ‘I got mad love for Uzi bit this sh*t kinda odd’
One more said ‘bro rlly put a price on his head’
Another fan explained the reference to the Vision superhero adding; 'This mf gonna get jumped and they just gonna pull the shit out his head like Thanos did to Vision'
Some were quick to tell Lil Uzi that the diamond was off centre, responding the the criticism, Lil Uzi replied:
'It’s actually in the middle. When the swelling goes down I’ll get a short bar so it wont move. Y’all keep talking ‘bout it’s off’ cause of the long bar in it so it can move, cause of the swelling’.
One fan asked why he chose to put it in his forehead and not wear a ring to which the rapper replied;
“If I lose the ring yeah U will make fun of me more than putting it in my forehead ha ha jokes on you ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha… And yes I do have insurance.”
The diamond is between 10 and 11 carats and comes from his favourite jewellery designer Elliot Eliantte and is apparently more than what he has in the past spend on cars. He claims, “my Bugatti can’t even pay for it … all my cars together, plus home, this took so long now I can get this money.” So not only did he spend last 4 years paying for it, it is actually more expensive than his car and potentially off centre. Hmm, seems like people don’t like the diamond as much as he does. Although as one Twitter user wrote;
‘Look how happy he is tho. Mans living his best life.’
His best life indeed, sometimes it is the unlikeliest of things that made us happy.
