Jennifer Lopez saw Ben Affleck as "the one that got away"

Jennifer Lopez never really got over Ben Affleck and according to Page Six saw him as the one that got away after her breakup with in in 2004. It’s a good job the two found each other again 17 years later. Sometimes you just have to be patient.

Speaking to Page Six a source claimed;

“Jennifer always saw Ben as the one that got away,” “She was crushed after they broke up, though she felt at the time that she had no other choice but to call off their engagement.”

The two met in 2001 while filming Gigli and it wasn’t long before they started dating and things moved fast and before we knew it they were engaged in 2002. However at the very last minute they postponed their wedding which was planned for 2003 and then a year later split.

Given this track record of doing things so quickly let’s hope bennifer 2.0 doesn’t follow the same route.

“As hot and heavy as their relationship was, they were on very different paths at the end of it,” the source said; “Jennifer was ready to settle down and have kids, but Ben wasn’t keen on giving up his bachelor lifestyle just yet. In the end, she got tired of waiting for him to come around — even though it broke her heart to end things.”

According to reports, she was pretty heartbroken at the time and it was Marc Anthony who finally helped her to believe in love again. In her 2014 book she wrote, “Marc came back into my life three days after I should have been at the altar saying ‘I do’ to another man,”

Lopez went on to marry Anthony in 2004 and had two children. Meanwhile Affleck married Jennifer Garner in 2005 and has 3 children.

Affleck may have gotten away once but will she let him go again or do whatever it takes to keep him is the question. If it’s true love then they may well keep finding each other again.
