Jennifer Lopez is speaking out about what really happened when her and Affleck previously dated and giving more details about their rekindled romance.
Speaking to zane lowe on Apple Music to talk about her album this is me..then, J Lo explained how they fell in love when they filmed Gigli in 2001 but it wasn’t live at first sight and happened slowly. It wasn’t until they filmed jersey girl together that they really fell in love.
Jennifer said: 'I think what happened is, as we worked together, we became such good friends. We realized that we were crazy about each other.
'I found myself kind of thinking about him after the movie was over. And having to take care of my own business, because I was coming out of a relationship at that time.
'But it's like you just knew it. It's just like, "This is the person I want to be with." And that
happened over a period of months. It wasn't an instant thing because we weren't allowed to do that. Yeah, it kind of grew over time.'
The media attention however destroyed their relationship resulting in their split in 2004. However she has no regrets, it was hat motivated her to do the things they did and to go into hyper gear and really accelerate their careers.
She did however admit she struggled with the heartbreak initially but she got her happy ending 20 years later.
‘M. It has the most would-never-happen-in-Hollywood ending. "That would never happen. We're not going to write that because nobody would believe it" ending.’ J Lo said.
Speaking of reminding after 20 years, j Lo said they were older and there was no uncertainty about being together and trying it out. They just knew it would work.
J Lo went on to add that It happened when the universe and God wanted it to.
‘Once we got whole enough and complete enough and loved ourselves enough and could stand on our own two feet really completely, as the universe would have it, we were brought into each other's lives again. J Lo said
'And it was a crack in the clouds and that song came through and it was like, "Boom, that's it." And we were both very sure.' She added.
Their love story is definitely a Hollywood type of romance and the one thing that can be taken away From it is, if it’s meant to be then it will happen.
