There is a time and place for everything and some things are better discussed privately, yet Janet Mock seemed to have missed the memo and her 15 minute speech she gave at the season 3 premiers of the FX series Pose in which she pretty much admitted to infidelity is making headlines.
The 38 year old trans activist went on stage during the premiere party and discussed pay inequality and how she wanted the trans community to get better treatment questioning why she was making $40k per episode when other TV executives made much more money according to reports. She is an executive producer, director and writer on the series Pose and is the first trans woman of color hired as a writer for a TV series in history
“F–k Hollywood … Does this make you uncomfortable? It should. It should make you f–king shake in your motherf–king boots. This is speaking truth. This is what Pose is,” she said.
She then asked her boyfriend Angel Bismark Curiel who plays Lil Papi on the show to stand up.
“Let me tell you something about love,” Janet reportedly said while addressing her boyfriend, according to Page Six..
“Today, I was gonna let [Angel] go. I was gonna let you go, right, but what did I do? I f–ked someone on the crew, right?”
Janet continued,
“Angel, Angel. I’m not losing you. You hear me? You are f–king important to me. I don’t want to live in a house alone. I want you. You motherf–ker. Right there. That’s who I want. I’m getting what’s mine.”
Wow and ouch. Wouldn’t want to be Angel at that moment in time.
It is reported that Janet Mock did spologise to fellow executive producer Our Lady J for diminishing her work to “make myself bigger”
“I f–ked up, y’all. I forgot who the f–k I was. They want me to come up here and pretend. I don’t need Hollywood, honey. You know why? Cuz I’m f–king free.”
Not all was bad, Janet did say some words of encouragement for the show’s cast members and some even showed support with Domique Jackson reported to have said, “Thank you for speaking for me!”
Sounds like Janet got out of the wrong side of the bed, either that or had a lot to get off her chest and the person who had to deal with the shocking revelation publicly was Angel.
