For some time people were speculating whether Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez had broken up and for some time the two did everything possible to hide their troubles and then finally on Thursday 15 April they put the rumours to rest.
The couple who are otherwise known as J-Rod after appearing on the cover of vanity fair 3 years ago, told the “Today” show that they were calling off their two year engagement in a joint statement.
“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects,” it said.
“We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
The two started dating in early 2017, in March they disputed reports that they were breaking up saying that the reports of their split are inaccurate and they were working things through. In a joint statement on Saturday 13th March they said;
“All the reports are inaccurate,” said the joint statement “from Jennifer and Alex,” emailed to The Associated Press by representatives. “We are working through some things.”
Perhaps the two really were working through things only to realise that they were unable to overcome their issues but seems like for now it really is the end of J-Rod.
