Has Michael Strahan closed the gap in his teeth or is it just an April's fool?

Michael Strahan’s famous smile has always been one of the most noticeable thing about him and he seems to have always stood his ground when it comes to not closing the gap in his teeth.

Yet the latest news making the rounds is that he has temporarily closed the gap in his teeth. It is not yet known if this is just an April’s fool but for those that are wondering what he may look like, here is a picture.

The former NFL star and current Good Morning America host is thought to have visited Dr. Lee Gause at Smile Design Manhattan and explained his thoughts and got a temporary removable dental piece that will give him the appearance of a gap-less look.

When the reveal is made, Michael exclaimed, “I love it! Holy f**k!”

Strahan’s teeth and whether to close out the gap in his teeth has been discussed multiple times. During an interview with Elle in 2012 he talked about how he had previously come close to fixing it but didn’t go through with it.

“I was really close to closing it up,” Strahan said. “I was at the dentist having him do mock-ups.”

“I was in my twenties. I was playing with the Giants,” he said. “There’s so much pressure to be perfect. You can fix everything now. For me, I made the conscious effort to say, ‘This is who I am. I’m not perfect. I don’t want to try to be perfect…'”

Strahan also joked that his kids wouldn’t recognize him without the gap.

“At this point, I don’t think my kids would recognize me without it. They’d be like, ‘Who is this stranger in the house? Call 911!'”

In December 2020, he even poked fun at himself on Instagram. Strahan drew a gap on an emoji and wrote, “GAP ADDED ✅”

For many years he has been considered a role model for those who are learning to accept their flaws. The teeth if not an April fools will certainly counter that.

It waits to be seen what happens next but we certainly hope his kids did recognise him with the so called temporary fix and no one called 911!
