The queen of funk Chaka Khan who was very much excited working with Ariana Grande last year doesn’t seem to have the same interest in her anymore.
In a latest interview, the legendary singer literally disowned Grande when asked whether she would collaborate with Ariana Grande again.
"Nah, she's all right, she's good on her own. She don't need me — plus, I don't want to sing with another woman. I ain't got nothing to say with a woman. You say it by yourself."
Khan and Grande performed a duet on the song "Nobody" for the 2019 "Charlie's Angels" soundtrack. The 67-year-old singer previously described it as "cute." However, Ariana Grande was not her first female collaboration as earlier she has also worked with singers such as Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Anastacia, and Lulu.
Well even if the legend has shown her unwillingness to work with Ariana Grande, the segment of the audience who Khan appeals to might start searching for Ariana’s work and Ariana would not mind it, especially as she has announced a new album coming this month.
According to the insider:
The record-breaking pop star had stayed largely quiet about her sixth studio album, the follow-up to 2019's wildly successful "Thank U, Next" — until Wednesday, when she revealed she plans to drop it in October.
Fans had previously suspected her sixth album was nearing completion, and began circulating the hashtag #AG6isComing.
Chaka Khan and Ariana Grande are singers from two generation, and Ariana might not respond to Chaka’s disinterest in working with her.
