Ellen DeGeneres Called It Quits, Slams Cancel Culture

It seems the last challenge for Ellen Degenres was to continue her show amidst the backlash over toxic work environment and while everyone was expecting Ellen is cancelled, She made a comeback in late 2020 but now she does not find it challenging.

Well from the cute and kind to horrible and toxic talk show host is calling it quits amid the claims of unkind behavior and bullying, as well as reports of a significant dip in sponsors and ratings.

So we dont know if it's a lack of challenges or lack of sponsorship that has made her take this step but the flurry of toxic workplace allegations has definitely played some role.

A source close to the talk show host told The Post on Wednesday that “Ellen is ending when her contract is up at the end of the 2022, 19th Season.”

DeGeneres herself confirmed the news to the Hollywood Reporter, saying the exit was planned — and it comes on her own terms.

“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged – and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,”

DeGeneres, 63, told the industry outlet.

DeGeneres said the plan to end after 19 seasons had been in place well before claims surfaced of her behavior behind the scenes.

“I was going to stop after season 16,” but pushback from “affiliates and the stations” had her settling for three more seasons, she said.
“That’s been the plan all along.”

Since the beginning of 2020 multiple claims have been made regarding the bullying behavior by the host and many clips from her past shows have convinced the fans that Ellen might act cute and kind but in reality she is a different person.

In the interview Wednesday, DeGeneres denied that she was ending the show over the allegations.

“If I was quitting the show because of that, I wouldn’t have come back this season,” she said. “So, it’s not why I’m stopping.”

But Ellen has not addressed the fact that those claims have severely hit her viewership, so there could be ripple effect, which Ellen is not acknowleding or may be she is not realizing.

But in an effort to keep her bubbly and kind behavior intact, Ellen claimed that hearing former staff share stories of behind the scenes behavior did affect her personally, she said.

The claims:

“destroyed me, honestly. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t.”

However, she went on to criticize today’s cancel culture.

Did she just imply she has been hit by cancel culture?

Not sure but she has defined her own version, by calling out bad people.

“This culture we’re living in is one where no one can make mistakes. And I don’t want to generalize because there are some bad people out there and those people shouldn’t work again but, in general, the culture today is one where you can’t learn and grow, which is, as human beings, what we’re here to do.”

But those who wanted to really cancel Ellen should not celebrate already as she has future plans and she may consider doing a movie next, but will be mostly focusing on her conservation work.

“The Ellen DeGenres Show” started airing in 2003 and at present, has aired for over 3,000 episodes of TV.

Sounds like Ellen is unwilling to admit that the real reason may well be because she lost fans after her behaviour was exposed. Being the smart individual she is she of course made sure she played it well so that before she left she salvaged some of her reputation. It was a great act and many have been convinced. She sure will make a good actress if she has managed to convince people she isn’t as bad as people are accusing her of.
