Elizabeth Olsen's advice, "Just saying 'no' is a full sentence," is only just trending now

Unlike most people, when it comes to Elizabeth Olsen, it would seem there is a bit of lag before people actually pay attention. First we had people only just realising that she was actually related to Mary-Kate and Ashley, now it would seem people are only just paying attention to the life advice she talked about almost two month ago back in January 2021.

The 32 year old actress who is the younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen said in January.

“I think there are two things, something my sisters always say which might have come from my father at one point… it’s that ‘no’ is a full sentence. I really like that, especially as a woman.
You can just say ‘no.’ I just really like that in all aspects of life,” Elizabeth said during an interview for TheOffCameraShow.

The clip was shared on TikTok and has since been viewed over 500,000 times and counting. Sophie Turner even reposted the clip on her Instagram Stories and said, “I love this.”

It would seem many agree with the statement. One person commented on TikTok;

"Wow. That's amazing. I never realised that I always try to explain myself when saying no. I can just say no."
"I'm teaching this to my daughter," said another.
"We need this on a shirt," said a third.
Someone else wrote: "No. It's a full sentence. I'm glad I heard this."
"From someone with full anxiety, who always feels like they need to explain themselves... this is really powerful," one more user added.

While we agree you should be able to say no without explaining why, how you said it is still important. Just saying no to everything is probably not that helpful either, but tell us what you think
