Britney Spears gets support from Howard Stern after previously calling her a train wreck

Britney Spears can add another fan to her free Britney movement. Howard Stern revealed on his radio show this week that he had been swayed to support the 39 year old pop star after watching New York Times Presents documentary Framing Britney Spears.

This is quite a significant move as the host has mocked Britney Spears on his show for years.

‘I think I’m Free Britney now, I think I’m full on Free Britney,' Stern said while chatting with his longtime co-host Robin Quivers.

The radio show host didn’t feel Spears could manage her estate but he did feel that there examples of other famous men who couldn’t but hadn’t been cut off including Shia LaBeouf, Gary Busey, Charlie Sheen, Ozzy Osbourne and even Kanye West. Good point Howard.

‘Ozzy [Osbourne] bit the head off of a bat in a business meeting. He’s in charge of his own finances,' Howard said.

Many fans have been outraged at some of the interviews Britney had to deal with at the start of her career after watching Framing Britney. One interview included a European journalist who asked about her breasts.

Even Dianne Sawyers had come under fire after snippets of 2003 interview were shown where Spears was quizzed about her breakup with Justin and Sawyers hinted at rumours she cheated on him.

‘You broke his heart. You did something that caused him so much pain, so much suffering. What did you do?' the journalist asked Britney who was only 22.

Stern's support for Spears' efforts to end her conservatorship are contrary to his earlier public statements about her which have been viewed as harsh and insensitive.

In 2012, he opined on Britney as a judge on The X Factor during a press conference at The Friars Club in New York City.

'I think we’re going to tune in to see her, to see if she can function through the thing,' he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

'I think Britney will sit there and eat a lollipop and wear a sexy outfit… I’ll tune in to see what kind of train wreck she is, absolutely.'

In 2003, Stern asked Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst if they'd had sex when he was a guest on the show. Durst implied that they had hooked up with the lyrics of an unreleased song from his rap–rock band: 'Ain’t it funny scared to admit it/ Very first night made the Limp dog hit it.'

Seems like people are starting to see Britney’s struggles for what they are. With all the support she is getting it waits to be seen if she will get what she wants in the end. Thanks for watching
