With fame and fortune come rumors and impersonators and Billie Eilish is no exception. She has been the subject of rumors for quite some time from imposters releasing tapes pretending to be her to being color blind.
Here is a run down of all the rumors related to Billie Eilish.
S*x on a train
In April 2020, Buzzfeed reported;
“Billie Eilish Addressed The Rumors About Her Having A S*x Tape On The Internet And My Heart Breaks For Her”
In an interview with Dazed magazine, the singer addressed the rumor of a porn video going around. In classic Billie Eilish style she put the rumors to bed.
“You think I would be having s*x on a train in daylight? With a dress on and fishnets, and a f***ing peace sign necklace? Dog, come on!”
She went on to say that not only does she have to deal with imposters online, but IRL, too.
“People put a f***in’ green and black wig on and go out in public and pretend to be me,” she said.
“It makes me look bad" she added. “It’s so mean. Every day I’m afraid someone is gonna do something — either fake something viral, or there’s gonna be some…I don’t even know what.”
She was told she is "Thicc"
While she may not like imposters, last year in June 2019 she decided to go to the Ellen Show disguised as a fan according to sausageroll.com in order to address controversy related to her being "Thicc". For those wondering what on earth "Thicc" is apparently it’s slang for a full figured body.
Fans discussed her weight and she later surprised them by taking off her wig, shades, and hoodie to reveal that she was listening in all along.
Turns out Billie isn’t “thicc”. She’s just a normal 18-year-old girl.
She is normal and her dolls can prove it
And to show just how normal she even had dolls made out of her. On September 2020, NME reported;
"Billie Eilish launches new toy collection inspired by her music videos”
The dolls were inspired by two music videos “Bad Guy” and “All Good Girls Go To Hell” and were made in partnership with Playmates and Bravado. The lines launched on her website on 15 October 2020 and are even available in Target.
It will be nice to improve the body image issues many girls face today and what a better way than to create a doll that young girls look up to!
Our favourite is the yellow outfit. Although we do wonder if yellow is the color Billie sees too.
She sees different colors to most others
On 19th October 2020, Independent reported;
"Billie Eilish sparks optical illusion debate over colour of her Nike sneakers"
The debate was sparked during question and answer on her Instagram Stories where a fan brought up an old optical illusion of whether a 2015 dress was blue and black or white and gold.
Billie shared her own story of how she had once worn mint and white Nike sneakers which her father claims were in fact pink and white. Many fans agreed with her father, making her more determined in her resolve to prove her point even more.
While some wondered is she could be colourblind, many were amused by the 18-year-old’s dedication to proving she was right.
“Billie Eilish getting into a heated argument over the colour of her shoes is one of the highlights of my day,” one person tweeted, while another said:
“I will forever remember how Billie Eilish fought with the entire internet to prove a point about her mint white shoes.”
Billie Eilish is given constant grief over her body
Though she did not back down from the argument about the color of her shoes, she eventually asked her Instagram followers to “let me have this” while making reference to the criticism she has to face for wearing oversized clothes due to her body type.
"So we all know that I’m right here even if you see something else. You know that I’m right underneath it all, right?" she said.
"And real quick: before you keep arguing or whatever the f***, the entire internet’s been calling me fat for a week, so let me have this."
Sad to see Billie being given so much grief over her body, even the picture of her in October 2020 (shown above) looking toned and giving off a casual vibe was met with criticism with many claiming she looked fat (she looks thin to us).
Conclusion
There are no doubt many other things trolls have accused Billie Eilish of but her success and talent is unquestionable. She is the recipient of many awards including 5 grammy awards, two American Music Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, two Guinness World Records, one NRJ Music Award, one Brit Award, and three Billboard Music Awards and I am sure many more will come.
So watch out trolls, you may criticise her all you want but true success is shown through what you have and she certainly has a lot.
