Adele made it big in the music industry by singing about being left heartbroken after she broke up with her former lover who has remained unnamed. The ‘Someone Like You’ singer has a net worth of $190 million and it would be fair to say a lot of it has come from the success of her songs given she has sold over 120 million records.
With heartbreak being the reason for the inspiration about her songs many would have wondered if her split from her husband would result in similar songs. It would seem not, the ‘Chasing Pavement’ singer has vowed‘to avoid songs about Simon Konecki marriage break up on next album’.
The 32 year singer broke up with Simon Konecki, 46 and filed for divorce in 2019. The two met back in 2011 and were together for around 5 years before tying the knot in a secret ceremony in 2016. The two share a son Angelo. Earlier this year she had agreed to settle her $190 million fortune and as part of the process agreed not to sing about the marriage breakup out of respect.
A source close to the star told The Sun on Sunday:
“Heartbreak has helped Adele shift records over the years but this split is quite different."
“They’re both aware their son Angelo should be protected and that’s why Adele has agreed not to sing about their relationship.”
She is thought to release an album this year almost 6 years after her last. The source goes on to add;
"Her new album will have a different sound anyway, so it hasn’t bothered her too much that Simon quietly expected her to keep their relationship out of her music.”
Her previous unnamed ex lover had requested royalties at the time she was making it big but she is thought to have said;
“He really thought he’d had some input into the creative process by being a p****. I’ll give him this credit — he made me an adult.”
Needless to say it’s unlikely any royalties were given. While it is sad Adele and husband Simon did not work out, it seems she has dealt with enough heartbreak to let this one go and will be opting for some fresh music. While her songs are great maybe we will get something a bit happier this time around, can’t wait to hear her new album.
